Belgian authorities looking for terror suspect


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Belgian authorities are looking for a suspect allegedly linked to a terrorist cell that was uncovered in the town of Verviers in eastern Belgian close to the border with Germany on Thursday. Belgian media Saturday named the suspect as 27-year-old Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian national of Moroccan origin, who used to live in the Brussels before going to fight in Syria.

According to the Belgian daily La DerniØ£¨re Heure the US FBI agency and the Israeli Mossad spy agency are helping to track down Abaaoud, who goes under the name of Abu Omar Soussi. He has reportedly fought on the side of ISIL but is believed to have now left Syria for Greece.
