Instagram verifies Shaikh Mohammed's account

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Instagram, one of the world's most popular social media platforms, has verified the official account of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This makes Shaikh Mohammed the first Arab leader to acquire this verification.

Instagram recently launched an account verification service for leaders, VIPs and public figures with the aim to protect their identity online.

The Instagram verification endorses the distinguished position of Shaikh Mohammed as a leader who is active on social media platforms. He is keen to utilise his official Instagram account to connect directly with the public and share his day-to-day activities by posting photos and videos. He also uses his account to promote national campaigns and humanitarian drives.

Shaikh Mohammed posted over 485 photos in addition to many video clips on his Instagram account. The average 'likes' for each new photo reach 15,000 on the first day alone. His account has 758,000 followers.

Some of the photos he posted on his page registered record number of likes. His photo with the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, garnered 58,550 likes; and his photo with General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, got 47,299 likes.

Shaikh Mohammed's photo with his son, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in the Dubai tram during its trial run got 60,930 likes; his photo with his youngest son, Shaikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, got 56,800 likes; and his photo with an expatriate family in the desert got 53,170 likes.
