Qatar- QBA, QC heads meet Slovenian President


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, the Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA), held a private business meeting with Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia here yesterday.

The meeting, held on the sideline of "opportunities in Slovenia and Qatar" event, was also attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, chairman of Qatar Chamber.

The President of Slovenia noted that the aim of this visit is to discuss ways of increasing trade cooperation, and improving bilateral relations between the two countries, and to study the needs of the Qatari market. During the meeting the President displayed the advantages that his country has, which would make it a good investment destination, including its position in Europe, and the strong relations that Slovenia has with its neighbouring countries in the eurozone, in addition to non-eurozone countries.

Slovenia is also one of the rare European countries that enjoyed a solid economic growth after the economic crises, due to its export-driven economy, were it exports around 74-75 percent of its goods to the eurozone countries.

Sheikh Faisal expressed the interest of Qatari businessmen to explore the available investment opportunities in Slovenia, and the possibility of establishing different projects in various sectors especially the

tourism sector, and invited Slovenian businessmen to explore the business and investment opportunities available in different sectors of Qatar's economy.

Sheikh Faisal also mentioned that there are some similarities between the two countries, which would constitute a solid basis for cooperation, which will allow companies in both countries to grow and develop.

The president invited Sheikh Faisal to visit Slovenia and have a closer look at the investment opportunities available in the country.

Sheikh Faisal thanked the president for the invitation, and expressed his interest to lead a delegation of Qatari businessmen to Slovenia and study the available investment opportunities on ground.
