(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) President of the Republic of Macedonia Georgi Ivanov invited Qatari businessmen to visit his country and explore investment opportunities there, saying that Macedonia ensures an attractive investment climate for foreign businessmen.
Ivanov was speaking at a meeting organized by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) for the Macedonian president and his accompanying delegation in the presence of QCCI Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani and a number of Qatari businessmen.
The visiting president expressed great interest in strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between his country and the State of Qatar, stressing that the promotion of joint trade is a key pillar in the promotion of bilateral relations, which in turn ensures prosperous economies for the benefit of the peoples.
He gave a presentation that touched on Macedonia's potentials that would make it of interest to the Qatari side, pointing to the agricultural environment and the active business sector in the fields of water and livestock farming. He added that his country is also active in the technology sector but stressed that investment in the agriculture and water sectors is Macedonia's main interest though.
The Macedonian president said his country has enacted a legislation that facilitates the access of foreign investments to Macedonia, particularly those of foreign investors to ensure successful investment and the advancement of common interests.
He also expressed hope for Qatar Airways to operate direct flights between his country and Australia, which will serve more than 200,000 passengers.
