(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Operations Department of the Abu Dhabi Police has won silver and bronze in the Open Road Racing Championship. Saud Al Zaabi earned silver for the department in the individual category and the department team won bronze in the team category for the 6 km race that was organised by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters at the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
Captain Ahmed Al Zaabi, Head of the Sports Committee at the Operations Department, said, "Our team delivered an outstanding performance during the championship - especially when compared to the amount of preparation time that we had." He commended the distinguished results for the department's first participation in such events this year and extended his gratitude to the runners for their achievement. "The team will participate in the Ministry of Interior's championships, and keep our eyes on the prize of success," said Captain Al Zaabi.
The Operations Department team included Saud Al Zaabi, Ali Ahmed Al Mahri, Abdullah Mohammed Karam, Taleb Al Fazzari, Yahya Al Junaibi, Hazza Al Dhaheri, Talal Al Baloushi, Turki Al Shehhi and Saeed Al Zaabi, in addition to Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, from the team administration, and Ismail Al Hosani, Head of Public Relations Committee.
