Kuwait- "Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015" planning efforts commended


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Heads of the delegations of the Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015 countries have applauded the final planning meeting of the event being held here.

Major General Rick Mattson, Director of Exercises and Training at US Central Command, has stressed the importance of the annual Exercise to bolster partnership and build joint capabilities of the participant countries, according to the Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations at Kuwait's Defense Ministry on Wednesday.

Mattson expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti Ministry for hosting the major multinational exercise in the Gulf area, with the participation of more than 20 countries.

Head of the of the of Peninsula Shield Forces (JPSF) delegation, Brigadier-General Hamed Al-Ghamdi, said Eagle Resolve is among the biggest drills in the Middle East.

Speaking on behalf of JPSF Commander, Al-Ghamdi said that hosting the event proves Kuwait's leading status on the world level.

For his part, Commander of Qatar's National Defense and Crises Management Center, Brigadier Jassem Ahmad Al-Mohanndi said that the planning gatherings witnessed unprecedented presence on the regional and world levels, offering an opportunity for exchanging expertise, which likely to guarantee success for the event.

The Eagle Resolve 2015 is part of activating the joint military action in the Arab world, head of the Egyptian delegation Brigadier Essam-Eddin Abdelsamee said, lauding the team in charge of the planning meetings.

Brigadier Mohammad Salem Ali Jaradat head of the Jordanian's Doctrine and Training Command, thanked Kuwait for inviting the Kingdom to take part in the exercise.

He said that work over the past months produced accurate and well-organized planning for the Exercise thanks to the Kuwait Army General Staff.

By the same token, head of the Omani delegation to the meeting Colonel Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mukhaini said his country's participation in the Exercise is part of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) joint military action.

Al-Mukhaini added that Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015 is a chief one that simulates regional threats and challenges, through joint operational planning to counter potential emergencies.

Head of the Bahraini delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Osama Hussein Ali commanded the persistent efforts by the Kuwaiti Armed Forces for providing a favorable environment for planning the Exercise. The outcome is a comprehensive and integrated scenario, for exchanging expertise and unifying visions and concepts.

UAE's participation in the Exercise is not confined to the Armed Forces as several police officers are also partaking, head of the UAE delegation Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Ibrahim Al Ali said.

Similar positive remarks on the planning of Exercise Eagle Resolve 2015 came from the heads of the Pakistani, Bangladeshi and French delegations who attended the final session.

This 13th version of Exercise Eagle Resolve will take place on stages in March 2015 for unifying visions on how to coordinate efforts on countering terrorism, border security and managing crisis and catastrophes.

Bahrain hosted the first Exercise in 2000.
