Arab League quartet to meet ahead of urgent talks

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab League chief Nabil Al-Araby is set to hold a Thursday morning meeting with the foreign ministers of Kuwait, Egypt and Jordan, ahead of emergency talks between Arab states, to discuss Middle East developments, Libya and regional security amid the threat of militant groups.

The four-side meeting is expected to discuss coordinating an Arab stance on matters pertaining to the Arab Peace Initiative Committee meeting, which will be chaired by Kuwait and the Arab League ministerial council throughout two separate sets of talks later on in the day.

A coordinated stance will also be unearthed regarding other topics such as the Palestinian affair, the turbulent political situation in Libya, Arab national security and tackling fundamentalist and terrorist organisations, said the announcement.
