The word “rape” immediately brings to mind a stranger lurking in a dark alley waiting to attack a woman going back home alone late at night. Many rapes or non-consensual sexual activities actually happen between two people who are already acquainted know one another socially (as friends acquaintances dates) or even while in an existing romantic relationship.

Date rape occurs when a perpetrator uses physical or psychological intimidation to force a victim to have sex against his or her will. Date Rape is also drug-facilitated sexual assault that occurs when the perpetrator has sex with a victim who is incapable of giving consent because they have been incapacitated by alcohol alone or in combination with date rape drugs that are slipped into an unsuspecting victim’s drink. Common date rape drugs are gamma hydroxy butyric acid (GHB) rohypnol (flunitrazepam) and ketamine (ketamine hydrochloride). These drugs have no taste color or smell and can be easily added to flavored drinks without the victim’s knowledge. These drugs may make the victim physically helpless unable to refuse sex and lack any memory whatsoever of the event.
The Drink Guard™ Date Rape Drug Detector is a test kit to test hidden drugs like GHB and Ketamine in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Each test kit comes with 10 Test cards and each card has 2 tests on each card. In addition each card is the size of a business card. To perform the test put a drop of the drink being tested on the test area of the card and let it dry. If the test area turns dark blue when it is dry the test is positive.
