Qatar- QIIB to hold second Career Day for Qataris

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The International Islamic (QIIB) will host its second edition of Career Day at Sheraton Doha from January 20-22. It has invited all qualified young Qataris looking to work in the banking sector.

"Hiring Qatari males and females is a decision taken by our human resources department, and we ensure that recruited candidates are provided with appropriate training and will benefit from career enhancement and suitable promotions," said Abdulbasit A Al Shaibei, CEO.

"We are proud to put into action directives of the Emir

H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani which stress utmost care of Qatari people and developing their skills. We act in accordance with government plans vis-a-vis Qatarisation," he added.

The three-day event will be from 8am to 3pm. The event for the second year in a row reflects QIIB's commitment to recruit as many young Qataris as possible and encourage them to work in the banking sector.

Al Shaibei said the bank ensures the recruitment of Qataris in the best way possible, thereby contributing to Qatar's economic growth.

The national workforce of Qatari males and females is the country's greatest asset and the bank is committed to investing in them and providing them with the best training and development programmes, he said.

Al Shaibei said a screening committee will interview the candidates and choose the right ones for the available positions in all departments and branches in the bank's network. In view of heavy turnout of candidates last year, the number of days for interviews this time has been increased to three from two. Last year's event hired 65 Qatari males and females for different positions.

The bank provided them with adequate training to help them perform with excellence, which gives them the opportunity to grow professionally, he said.
