Six Vale employees recreate 1954 oil expedition with Outward Bound Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Six Vale employees embarked on a seven-day journey with Outward Bound Oman to recreate the historical 1954 oil expedition from Duqm to Fahud in commemoration of the 44th National Day.

One of three teams to participate in the organisation's annual challenge Vale employees travelled on foot across over 140km hauling a four-wheeled cart carrying essential survival equipment. This marks the third consecutive year Vale partners with Outward Bound Oman and its employees once again put their management negotiation and communications skills as well as team work and physical endurance to the test.

Sergio Espeschit Vale in Oman's chief executive officer said 'These journeys have proven that our employees are eager to step outside their comfort zone to transform themselves. Year-on-year they rise to the challenge and return triumphant as a stronger more united team. Not only do they bring back with them a wealth of memories and learnings but an outlook that inspires us all to take every opportunity to become better versions of ourselves and face difficult tasks head on with a positive attitude.'

Mark Evans general manager of Outward Bound Oman said 'Our National Day journeys provide a unique opportunity for team and leadership development. Without a doubt the six individuals nominated by Vale were challenged but they worked ate and lived together 24 hours a day for seven days learning lessons that cannot be taught in a normal training workshop environment long lasting lessons that can now be applied in the workplace.'

Since its establishment in Oman Vale has strongly advocated human development and talent generation across all aspects of its business. With an extensive global experience the company implements a series of developmental programmes specifically designed to educate and prepare employees to effectively respond to challenges while refreshing and creating innovative concepts.
