(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Nasser Judeh, and his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Garcia, on Monday discussed bilateral ties and the latest regional developments, especially the growing 'phenomena of extremism and terrorism.'

Both sides emphasized the depth and the durability of relations between the two countries at all levels, as reflected by the good relations between the two royal families, indicating the importance of continuing meetings and consultation, especially after Spain's accession to the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member.

The two ministers stressed the importance of international concerted efforts to confront terrorism and extremism which have become the 'biggest challenge' in the world. Judeh reiterated Jordan's rejection of terrorism and extremism and the fact that the Kingdom stands against any person, body or ideology that distorts the preaching of Islam which is a religion advocating acceptance of others, peace and moderation. He stressed the need to 'confront anyone who tries to give offence to this religion.'

The Spanish minister expressed his country's appreciation and support to Jordan's efforts to address regional issues and bring peace and stability.

He also stressed his country's 'commitment to work with €the American-led coalition which Jordan is a part of, to combat terrorism which threatens us all.'
