(MENAFNEditorial) The FBI has issued an alert to over 1800 law enforcement agencies across the United States regarding a newly released video from ISIS urging the murder of “intelligence officers police officers soldiers and civilians” in the United States.
According to security expert John M. White CPP this is a clear sign that the threats have not only increased but they are being taken much more serious than in the past. “These types of threats are made all the time but in light of what happened in New York City with the senseless murder of two police officers and then the mass murder in Paris France last week it can easily be assumed that the threats levels are justifiably at a very high level” said White.
White went on to say that not only do we need pay particular attention to our interests overseas but we also must be mindful of the homegrown terror threat from within the United States. “As we saw with September 11th and with other acts of violence on U.S. soil since then an attack can come from within and we must plan for such” stated White.
The days on relying solely on the United States Government to provide for all of our safety and security is behind us according to White. “Since we have no idea where the next terror attack will occur within the U.S. and whether or not the suspects will be directly tied to a terror group or acting alone we need to take precautions in our businesses and schools to insure our own safety and security” said White. He went on to state that businesses and schools can and should take proactive measures to determine their risks by conducting a security risk assessment which should also evaluate any and all vulnerabilities and threats. “It is just not possible for the U.S. Government or our local police to provide security for private companies and other organizations when there is so much that we can do as private citizens. Sitting and waiting for someone else to protect us could prove to be costly” White said.
