(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The police said that they have taken into custody the childs parents and are interrogating them.
Sharjah — A three-year old Emirati girl was crushed to death after one of her parents (unidentified) reversed their vehicle without realising that the child was standing behind it outside their house in Al Dhaid area on Saturday.
On being alerted about the accident the police reached the house and shifted the child to Al Dhaid Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. The police said that they have taken into custody the child’s parents and are now interrogating them.
The accident occurred when the girl strolled behind her family vehicle and her parent (at the wheel) — without noticing her — reversed the vehicle. The police said the whole family is in a state of shock.
Police officers have warned all villa owners to ensure that their children are not near their vehicles that are parked in the compound of their house before driving. Such run-over accidents are even more tragic as they claim lives of innocent children.
