Double bombing in N. Lebanon claims nine lives

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Saturday evening that nine people were killed and more than 35 others injured as a result of the suicide twin bombings that hit in Omran Cafe in Jabal Mohsen neighborhood in Tripoli.

Former prime minister Saad Al-Hariri condemned the attack as an act of terrorism meant to destabilize the country.

He commended the recent successes made by the army and security forces in combatting the "terrorist organizations" in the northern parts of the country, according to the state-run NNA news agency.

Earlier today the NNA reported that the two suicide attackers are residents of Al-Mankobin neighborhood and that the security services cordoned off their homes.

Since 2008, the two Tripoli neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab Al-Tabana have undergone about 20 rounds of infighting which left hundreds of casualties.
