(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has concluded its participation in the Liwa International Festival, "Tel Moreeb", which kicked off on January 3rd in the Western Region.
Major Suhail Sayah Al Mazroui, Chief of the Western Region Traffic Section, noted that the Abu Dhabi Police achieved the objectives of their participation in terms of boosting traffic safety awareness, as well as urging participants and road users to abide by safety rules, legal speed limits and traffic laws.
Major Al Mazroui said that the Western Region Traffic Section has implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure traffic safety, saying, "The section intensified patrols at the festival site, along with organising the traffic on roads and intersections leading up to the site." First Lieutenant Mubarak Ghanim Al Mansouri, Media Campaigns Branch Manager at the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that participation in the festival and other events comes in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Police strategy which is aimed at promoting the concept of safety for all, and gaining the public's confidence in the police and the services they provide.
He commended the public's response, which he said contributed to ingraining the concept of safety for everyone, especially desert sports' fans. He also highlighted the role of the Western Region Police in ensuring the success of the festival.
