Abu Dhabi Police calls on public not to crowd near accident sites

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) In line with the ongoing security campaign organised by the Radio Branch of the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Abu Dhabi Police has called upon the public not to crowd around near accident sites in order to ensure everyone's safety.

The message, to be included in a radio address to be broadcast live today, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, said that crowding near accident sites is deemed a negative disruptive habit, which may impede traffic and prevent rescue, ambulance and firefighting teams from carrying out their duties.

He said that such objectionable negative behaviour is commonly observed as soon any type of accident occurs, adding, "This is unacceptable behaviour that reflects a lack of awareness among community members who impede the efforts to help the injured in a timely manner," he continued.

Lt. Colonel Al Ameri added that despite repeated calls urging the community to not gather near accident sites, some still insist on doing so. This, in turn, leads to further human and material losses caused by accidents. In conclusion, he expressed hope that such unacceptable behaviour can be completely eradicated from society, and praised the public's unwavering cooperation with police bodies.
