Sharjah Ladies Run entry open until mid January


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Sharjah Ladies Club has announced that entry for the second edition of their award-winning Sharjah Ladies Run is still open until mid-month. Themed "Night Neon Run" this year, the race will start from Sharjah University City and targets 500 ladies over the age of 15. The first edition of the race won "Fitness Event of the Year" at the UAE's FIT Awards 2014.

Khawla Al Serkal, Director of Sharjah Ladies Club, said that organising the Night Neon Run event is part of Sharjah Ladies Club's commitment to women and its continuous endeavour to provide a sporting and health platform for ladies and to deliver a message to the community that sport is an exciting and healthy activity. She clarified that the race is exclusively for women and will feature three different categories: the 2 km, 5 km and 10 km events. She added that the competition would help raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enhance the value of sport for women from different age groups and social classes.

Registration for the Night Neon Run will remain open at the reception desk in Sharjah Ladies Club or online at the club's website until Thursday 15th January. The race will be preceded by weekly training sessions at the club's Fitness 180 on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The sessions are designed to prepare ladies for the challenging race.
