Kuwait 'urged' to bounce back

(MENAFN- Arab Times) MELBOURNE Australia Jan 10 (KUNA): The head coach of the Kuwaiti football team Faraj Nefa' has urged his players to put up a good fight during the coming match with South Korea in order to be able to advance to the next round of the 16th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup held in Melbourne Australia.

Although the Kuwaiti team lost the first game with Australia they should not give up hope to remain in the competition circle since they still have two matches to play he told KUNA here on Saturday.

'The loss before Australia does not mean the end of the world as we still have two games to play. We should not give up hope to qualify to the next round' he said.

Earlier on Friday Australia dealt Kuwait a heavy blow by beating them 4-1 goals in the opening game of the 16th AFC Cup.

Kuwait's goal was scored in the 7th minute while host Australia scored four times after that at the 33rd 44th 62nd and 90th minutes.

Kuwait will be playing South Korea next Tuesday while Oman will face the host Australia later on the same day.
