Ban signs condolences book at French Mission


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) UN Chief visited Friday the Mission of France to the UN and signed a condolences book following the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris.

Speaking to reporters afterward, Ban Ki-moon said that he had expressed, on behalf of the UN, his most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and Government of France, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretrary General Farhan Haq, during his briefing, quoted Ban as saying.

The Secretary General, Haq added, had spoken by phone with French President Francois Hollande, yesterday, and had expressed the international community's solidarity with France.

Both officials had agreed to work closely against terrorism.
