Amur Minerals lifted as directors take shares instead of salary


(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors) Amur Minerals (LON:AMC) shares rose as it revealed its three directors have chosen to take shares instead of salaries.

The firm has  issued new shares to the board executive staff and other service providers in lieu of fees.

It comes as the group awaits the decision on an award of its "Detailed Exploration and Production Licence" for the Kun-Manie nickel copper sulphide project in the Russian Far East.

It issued around 3mln shares at a price of 10.25p per share - the closing mid-market price as at Wednesday (Jan 7) this week and 682422 shares to the board members.

Following this Robin Young chief executive will hold 0.49% of the capital Robert Schafer chairman has 0.10% and Brian Savage non exec director holds 0.08%.

Young said: "We are pleased to report to our shareholders that the board and Amur's executive management have been able to increase their holdings in the company reflecting our confidence in the project and anticipated success in moving Kun-Manie forward.  

"The timing of this allotment of shares is related to our not being in possession of any disclosable price sensitive information and not being within a close period in accordance with the AIM Rules for companies."

Just before Christmas the firm said it had complied with a request for more information from the Russian government as part of its application. 

Greater detail was requested on the company'sownership structure financing history and exploration activity at Kun-Manie as part of the review by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's office the final approval necessary for the licence.

Shares rose 8.05% to 11.75p.
