Canada's trade deficit hits USD544m in November


(MENAFN) Canadian government statistical agency said the country posted USD544 million trade deficit in November as exports to the US and Britain dipped sharply, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Statistics Canada also revised downward a nearly USD85 million surplus the previous month to a USD276 million deficit. Analysts had been expecting a USD169 million deficit for November.

According to Statistics Canada, exports to the US, Canada's largest trading partner, decreased 2.6 percent to USD27.8 billion in the month. Britain led a drop in exports to other countries, down USD665 million.
