Germany's unemployment rate edges up in December


(MENAFN) The Federal Employment Agency announced that Germany's unemployment rate edged up in December 2014 to around 2.76 million, Xinhua reported.

Compared with November, the unemployment figure in December rose by 47,000 to 2.764 million, which is 110,000 less year on year, according to the figures.

"A rise of unemployment in December is common, but the rate this year is smaller than (it was) in recent years," head of the Nuremberg-based agency said.
