Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority discusses cooperation with South Africa


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Rashid Al Shariqi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, has met with Mpetjane Kgaogelo Lekgoro, Ambassador of South Africa to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation, and discussed ways to enhance mutual cooperation between the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Republic of South Africa.

During the meeting, Al Shariqi presented the organisational structure and regulations of the authority, in addition to external activities and its strategic partners. He also stressed the importance of cooperation between the two-sides, pointing out the continuing cooperation of the authority, where a delegation recently visited nurseries in South Africa and explored best practices in the production of citrus plants.

He also reviewed the opportunities available to investors in the emirate, calling for participation in the SIAL Middle East Food Exhibition, which is held annually in Abu Dhabi, with a view to marketing the food industry and its importance in the exchange of experiences and establishing business relations.

The Ambassador of South Africa expressed his delight at the meeting, stressing the importance of discussions for future cooperation between the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Republic of South Africa, especially in food security and food industries and investment opportunities within the Republic.
