8 injured in Irbid house fire


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Eight people suffered burn injuries Monday night when a fire caused by a gas leak engulfed their home in a town in the northern Irbid governorate, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).

Irbid CDD director, Munib Awawdeh, said the fire broke out in a room of the house in the town of Al Sarih when gas leaking from an old portable cooker caught fire from a heating stove.

He said the injured were transferred to the King Abdullah I Hospital in the city of Ramtha, where they were listed in a medium condition.
