L&T Oman awarded Duqm airport construction contract


(MENAFN) Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communications announced it has awarded L&T Oman, a subsidiary of India-based construction company Larsen & Toubro, a major contract for the construction of a new passenger terminal and other key facilities in Duqm Airport, Oman Observer reported.

Under the construction contract on the Duqm airport, the company's work will also include building a modern passenger terminal building with a capacity to handle 500.000 passengers per year, a 37-m-high air traffic control tower and an air cargo terminal equipped to handle 25.000 tons of cargo per year.

L&T Oman also said that it was awarded another contract from Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) for the construction of a four-star hotel at Oman Exhibition and Convention Centre (OECC), adding that the total value of the contracts it won in December has reached USD398 million.
