New diversion from Lusail Expressway to Pearl Qatar

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has built a new four-lane diversion from the under construction Lusail Expressway to The Pearl Qatar.

The new diversion will be effective from Thursday onwards.

The two-lane traffic will be maintained in each direction of the new entrance and exit to The Pearl Qatar, according to an Ashghal statement.

The diversion is being made to facilitating the implementation of work currently taking place as part of the construction of the Lusail Expressway project, it said.

Ashghal will install road signs in the entire area for the convenience of the motorists, it added.

Ashghal has also announced the closure of the access and the exit to The Pearl Qatar from the existing roundabout, known as the Lagoona roundabout, which will instead function as an access for the traffic heading to Lagoona Mall and the hotels in the area.

The new roundabout will be opened at the point where the new diversion route from The Pearl meets with Lusail Street (as shown in the map).

The new roundabout will subsequently be changed to a signalled junction later on a temporary basis, which will eventually be made to form the Lusail Expressway when it is completed.
