(MENAFN- The Peninsula) US officials monitoring the recent drop in oil prices believe the dip so far has been beneficial for the US economy, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said. US average petrol prices have fallen below $2 per gallon in much of the country. That has boosted US car sales and other areas in recent months. The White House has also said that President Barack Obama believes the proposed Keystone XL pipeline would have little impact on US gas prices.
