Palestinian foreign minister praises Qatar's support


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki has praised the "great support" provided by the State of Qatar to the Palestinian people, stressing Doha's strong position in defending the right of the Palestinian people to establish an their independent state.
In remarks to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) al-Malki described the Qatari-Palestinian relations as deep rooted, hailing Qatar's leadership, government and people for their support to the Palestinian people and their cause at all regional and international forums.
He said, "Whenever we were in a political impasse that needed to be addressed, Qatar was always present to end such impasse".
The Palestinian Foreign Minister also praised the role of Qatar and its efforts to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation through direct intervention and bringing together the Palestinian factions to end internal disputes and unite them in face of the daily crimes committed against the Palestinian people by Israel.
On the role of Qatar in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which was destroyed by Israeli aggression, the Palestinian minister said that Qatar has supported the reconstruction of the private sector, and recalled the visit paid to Gaza by HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani about two years ago.
He referred to the support provided by Qatar to the reconstruction of Gaza, especially the infrastructure, pointing out that aspects of Qatari support and assistance are evident to everyone visiting the sector.
