(MENAFN) According to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website, South Korea's defense exports amounted to a record high of USD3.59 billion last year, QNA reported.
The nation reached the record through its last year's exports of six patrol class corvettes (PPC) to Malaysia and 12 FA-50 light combat aircraft to the Philippines.
The country also signed a deal to export 120 units of K-9 self-propelled guns to Poland in 2014, an official at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration said.
The official added that corruption in defense-related projects mostly occurred in the process of imports and thus had little effect on defense exports.
South Korea has been diversifying defense export destinations to include markets like Southeast Asia, Europe and South America, the official added.
