S. Korea to invest USD3.6b in science, IT in 2015


(MENAFN) The South Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said it will invest nearly USD3.6 billion in the science and IT sectors this year, QNA reported.

The ministry finalized a plan to invest USD2.61 billion in the science and technology sector and nearly USD1.26 billion in the IT sector, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.

Of the budget, the largest share of USD1.98 billion will go to research and development, while about USD811.98 million will be spent for basic research and staff training.

The move is in line with the ministry's goal to serve the public and help the economic recovery through promoting science and technology. It plans to hold presentations on its plan to promote research and development.
