Four Houthis killed, 37 injured in blast in central Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Four people of the Houthi group were killed and 37 others injured in an explosion near a guest house in the central governorate of Themar on Sunday, medical and local sources said.

Local authorities in Themar said in a statement to the press that four persons of the popular committees of the Houthi group were killed and more than 30 others injured in a blast caused by an explosive device placed next to the guest house.

Dr. Jamal Al-Shami, director of Themar hospital, said the hospital received 37 injured persons.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Defense Ministry said Colonel Humoud Hussein Al-Tharhani, commander of operations of the 21st Mechanical Brigade, was killed by unknown gunmen in the eastern governorate of Shabwa.

The ministry said Al-Tharhani was killed while he was leaving his house this morning.
