(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) A high tide on Sunday was not enough to free a cargo vessel that ran aground shortly after leaving the south of England port of Southampton.
The Hoegh Osaka got stuck on a sand bank in the Solent, off the Isle of Wight, on Saturday. The 25 crew members were taken off and salvage operator Svitzer contracted to free the vessel, dpa reported.
The 180-metre vessel, which is Singapore-registered and was on its way to Germany, can carry up to 1,000 vehicles.
