Italy's posts USD3.16m state sector budget in December

(MENAFN) Italy said it posted a state sector budget of USD3.16 million in December, dipping sharply from the USD9.65 million registered in December 2013, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The Italian Economy Ministry said the state sector budget deficit for the full year of 2014 totaled USD47.59 million, improving from 2013's figures of USD2.16 million on tighter spending.

At the end of September, Italy hiked its general government deficit forecast for 2014 from 2.6 percent of GDP to 3.0 percent, exactly in line with the EU's ceiling, citing a weaker than expected economy.
