Iraqi President Receives Message from Mauritanian Counterpart


(MENAFN- QNA) Iraqi President Fuad Masum has received a message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

The Iraqi presidency said in a statement that the Mauritanian Ambassador to Iraq Cheikh Ould Ahmed Sadati Aicha handed over the message during a meeting today with President Masum.

The statement said the Mauritanian Ambassador underlined his country's keenness to develop relations between Mauritania and Iraq and between Iraq and African countries as Mauritania is currently chairing the African Union.

He also stressed Mauritania and African Union member states with Iraq in its war against terrorism, saying "we are all in one trench in this confrontation with the terrorists who target everyone." For his part, the Iraqi President stressed that cooperation among States in combating terrorism, is a necessity that require communication and activation of all efforts, especially as regards the exchange of information on terrorist groups and their different activities.
