France new car sales up 0.3 percent in 2014


(MENAFN) According to the French car sales federation (CCFA), the country's new car sales increased 0.3 percent in 2014, marking the first positive performance since 2010, Xinhua reported.

Car sales stood at 1.795 million units in 2014 compared to 1.790 million cars sold a year earlier. However, in December, a total of 163,382 new cars were sold, down 6.8 percent over December 2013.

French manufacturer Renault posted a 6.8 percent jump in sales with offers of low-cost brand of Dacia up by 14.1 percent, while Peugeot Citroen also reported a gain of 1.6 percent, according to the report.
