Bahrain Reps Council rejects foreign interferences

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))  Speaker of the Representatives' Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has rejected the foreign interferences in the domestic affairs of Kingdom of Bahrain.

In a press conference here on Thursday, Al-Mulla criticized the double standards in human rights adopted by some countries, western federations and human rights organizations, saying: "It became clear that they all are major supporters of violence, fomentation and terrorism." He denounced irresponsible stances and remarks as well as foreign interference, emphasizing that the legal and judicial measures taken are guaranteed by the law to ward off threats to national security.

Some countries and organizations deal with Bahrain within an unjust vision as they get their information from one side and ignore Bahraini accomplishments, such as municipal elections which were highly hailed by international community, he said.

Al-Mulla stressed that Bahrain's security and stability are top priority in national work and they are mainly a guarantee for any development.

In a related development, prosecutor Nayef Mahmoud said that the prosecution has interrogated an opposition chief over the last days as he is accused of promoting regime change by force, threats and other illegal means.

Mahmoud added that the prosecution showed speeches and remarks of this prominent opposition figure "in which he called on the opposition to adopt the approach of Syrian opposition and turn the country into a military battle."
