S. Korean Hyundai, Kia set sales target at 8.2m for 2015


(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, South Korea's top two automakers, announced that they have set their 2015 sales target at 8.2 million units after topping the 8 million mark in 2014, Xinhua reported.

Hyundai Motor Group, the holding company of the two carmakers, said that the group aimed to produce and sell 8.2 million cars this year, after it has surpassed the 8 million mark for the first time in the group's history and selling a combined 8.004.696 cars in 2014, with Hyundai selling 4.963.000 cars last year, and Kia's car sales reaching 3.041.696 units.

Hyundai aimed to sell 5.05 million cars this year, with Kia targeting sales of 3.15 million units in 2015.

"The company will make efforts to enhance brand value by investing more into research and development and raising the effectiveness of the company's production and sales system," Hyundai Motor Group Chairman said.
