Two gangs to be tried on robbery charges in Dubai


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The public prosecution charged them with commission of a robbery crime making threats to kill a human being and depriving a man of his freedom.

Dubai - The Dubai public prosecution on Wednesday referred two gangs of robbers to the criminal court of first instance in two separate cases of robbery cases.



According to police records the first gang was reported to the Dubai police by a warehouse guard of a contracting company identified as A.Kh.D a 39-year-old Pakistani who said that while he was on duty at the warehouse of his company at about 2 o’clock at night and inspecting the vicinity of the warehouse containing power cables he was shocked by some people attacking him. The guard was held tied up and blindfolded by the burglars and they threatened to kill him if he cried out for help.



The robbers allegedly took the guard into the warehouse seated him and then they fled the scene.



After a while the guard managed to untie himself. When he examined the warehouse he discovered that 15 power cables had gone missing.



After the police examined the crime scene they received information that a gang of Pakistanis had been behind the robbery as they were implicated in similar crimes before.



The Dubai Police laid a trap at a under construction site in Al Quoz to catch the suspects. While watching over the suspects four men came in a car and tried to enter the site but the police took them by surprise and arrested two of them after intense resistance.



The first suspect is identified as a 27-year-old Pakistani worker N.M.K– the mastermind of the robbery. He was involved in similar crimes in the country and had been handed down deportation by court. Yet he entered the country in an illegal manner. The second suspect is a 29-year-old Pakistani called S.H.N. His job was to transport the gang members to the warehouse site while the other gangsters managed to flee. They confessed to have committed several crimes.

In the second case a gang of robbers led by a 30-year-old Pakistani identified as Z.Kh.R moved at night to a storehouse. The gang threatened the workers in the storehouse tied them up gagged them and stole their mobile phones and wallets. The gang also stole some power cables stored in the warehouse.



The public prosecution charged them with commission of robbery.The two gangs were referred to the Dubai court of first instance to stand trial on the raised charges. -salahkhaleejtimes.com
