QSF plans to bid for 2019 World Junior and 2023 World Senior C'ships

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Swimming Federation (QSF) president Khalil al-Jaber yesterday said that the QSF is considering to bid for organising the 2019 World Junior Championship, as well as the 2023 World Senior Championship for aquatic sports in Doha.

Al-Jaber said in a statement that the upcoming World Junior Championships will be held in 2015 in Singapore and in 2017 in Hungary, while the venue of the 2019 championship is still undecided.

"We seek to host this tournament and we have all the potential that will help us to get the right to organize it, and we hope to achieve this goal," the QSF chief said.

He said the World Junior Championship (50m) will see the participation of more than 1,700 players, while the World Senior Championship will have aquatic sports with the participation of world's top swimmers.
The QSF president added that Qatar will take advantage of the huge success accomplished after the organization of the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships in December last year.
