Kosovo approves 2015 budget, targets 4 percent growth

(MENAFN) Kosovo, one of the poorest areas of Europe, approved next year's budget, targeting steady economic growth of 4 percent, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The USD1.91 billion budget was adopted by a majority in the 120-seat assembly of country where a third of its 1.7 million inhabitants are unemployed and 40 percent live in poverty.

Prime Minister said that his government expected a growth rate of more than 4 percent in 2015 and an inflation rate of 1 percent, up from 0.4 percent registered this year.

"Improving the current structure of the economy needed to focus on boosting investment and therefore increasing domestic production and exports to reduce its high trade deficit," he said.
