SpiceJet carrier cancels 300 additional flights

(MENAFN) Budget carrier SpiceJet said it will cancel 300 more flights units January 31, even as the government seemed to rule out any help, saying the carrier will have to solve its financial troubles by itself, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

The latest update on the airline's website states that over 300 flights have been cancelled till January 31, 2015. Earlier the troubled airline had truncated its operations by canceling over 1,800 flights till December 31, 2014.

"Government is here to be helpful but the SpiceJet problem is its finances which it will have to sort out," Civil Aviation Minister said on the sidelines of State Aviation Ministers' meet held here to discuss the draft Civil Aviation Policy.
