Hyundai, Kia Motors set sales target of 8.2m in 2015

(MENAFN) Industry sources said that South Korea's top carmakers, Hyundai Motor Co., and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. are targeting sales of 8.2 million units globally in 2015, Yonhap News reported.

The new target is about 1.5 percent higher than their global sales of this year. Hyundai and Kia's overseas target is likely to stand at 3.18 million units and 1.44 million units, respectively.

In 2014, combined sales of the two automakers are forecast to exceed the 8-million mark for the first time, having pushed up their performance by 1.78 percent from their original goal of 7.86 million units.

"The sales objective for the new year is still undergoing changes. Exact figures will be announced (Friday)," a Hyundai official said in a statement.
