Indonesian rescuers recovering AirAsia flight bodies


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Indonesian rescue teams have recovered 40 bodies from the missing AirAsia flight , Indonesian authorities said Objects resembling wreckage of the plane were seen in the search area in the Java Sea, they announced via Indonesian TV on Tuesday.

They confirmed that debris located found in the Java sea comes from the AirAsia Airbus A320 which went missing on Sunday carrying 162 passengers.

Confirming the development, the flight's carrier, AirAsia Indonesia, an affiliate of the Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia, said in a statement that the debris belonged to the missing flight.

A major search and rescue effort involving at least 30 ships and 15 aircraft from nine countries has been looking for the aircraft since it vanished early on Sunday morning while carrying 162 people from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore.
