20 from Oman to attend NRI meet in Gujarat from January 7


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) At least 20 people from Oman will take part in the 2015 edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) which will be held in the western Indian city of Gandhinagar Gujarat from January 7 to 9.

This is the 13th year of the prestigious event which is being organised by the Indian government for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) excelling in various areas.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday H E J S Mukul India's Ambassador to Oman said 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is an annual event that is being organised to recognise the contributions of NRIs all over the world. The next year's event will be held in Gandhinagar Gujarat. The event has special importance as 2015 marks hundred years of Mahatma Gandhi's return to India from South Africa. The three-day event will have several educational events including Bharat Jano (Know India) and Bharat Mano (Follow/Regard India).'

Some of the prominent speakers from the Gulf include Yusuffali M A managing director Lulu Group and Dr B R Shetty founder and CEO NMC Healthcare UAE.

H E Sunil Jain Ambassador of India to Kuwait and H E Sanjiv Arora Ambassador of India to Qatar will also address the gathering.
