Kuwait- MoH to open specialized clinics for backbone


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Dec 30 (KUNA): An official from the Health Ministry said the step to increase the number of External Orthopedic clinics and casualties in Farwaniya Hospital has helped to reduce the period patients have to wait to see a doctor due to high population density of the areas the hospital serves. In a press statement Head of Bone Surgery Section in the Farwaniya Hospital Dr Abdullah Bo Najma said the number of orthopedic clinics have increased from five to eight besides the number of casualty rooms which have increased by two rooms to work around the clock to receive emergencies.

He added three evening clinics for orthopedics are in operation in addition to a surgical room to deal with emergency cases. Add to the newly equipped room is a specialized clinic for orthopedics affiliated to Al-Osaimi center in Khaitan he noted. He indicated the Ministry of Health intends to open specialized clinics for backbone and sports medicine to serve the inhabitants of Farwaniya Governorate.

He expected the number of visitors to the external clinics in Farwaniya Hospital to exceed 70000 in the current year compared to 65000 in 2013. In addition he expected the number of visitors to the orthopedics clinics to reach over 200000 compared to the number in 2013 which recorded 184000 visitors. He further hailed the unlimited support the Health Ministry provides to the section which helps to develop the services provided to visitors.
