Qatar- QF holds first teacher recruitment fair

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Foundation (QF) held its first teacher recruitment fair to promote professional opportunities at educational institutions in the country and the region.

The Doha International Recruitment Fair brought together over 150 potential candidates and at least 35 local and international schools to discuss future career opportunities.

Designed to match international educators with fresh roles, the fair was hosted in association with International Schools Services (ISS), one of the world's leading recruitment organisations for teachers.

ISS hosts such events in selected cities around the world and this was the first in Qatar.

There were 120 registered members of ISS from Qatar and abroad, and over 30 walk-in candidates, who spoke with representatives of regional educational establishments.

Academic institutions from Qatar, Bahrain, Saudia Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and Pakistan took part.

QF academies were well represented by Qatar Leadership Academy, Awsaj Academy, Academic Bridge Programme, Qatar Academy, Qatar Academy Al Wakra, Qatar Academy Al Khor, Qatar Academy Sidra and Qatar Academy Msheireb.

Buthaina Al Nuaimi, Associate Vice-President, Education, QF, said, "The high level of interest from local educators demonstrates the passion for sharing knowledge with the next generation.

"We are pleased with participants' interest in pre-university education institutions in Qatar which cater for different ages and specialities.

"QF is delighted to partner with ISS for outreach and recruitment.

"Teachers and teaching are central to improving student outcomes, and QF remains committed to collaborations that deliver a modern world-class educational system," Al Nuaimi added.

Bruce McWilliams, Vice-President, ISS, spoke about the importance placed by ISS on the partnership with QF to establish the fair.

"ISS hopes to continue the partnership with QF for years to further enhance and promote education in Qatar as outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030," McWilliams said..

"The result was a fantastic event that will continue to grow and play an important role in providing outstanding educators for schools in Qatar and the Gulf."
