Saudi- KSA foils massive infiltration bid
(MENAFN- Arab News) The Saudi Border Guard foiled the attempts to enter the country of over 14000 infiltrators in the past two months a report in local media said quoting data released by the Ministry of Interior.
Meanwhile the government deported 50262 foreigners for violating work and residence regulations over the same period with plans to deport a further 2474 the report said recently.
The Border Guard in Jazan seized 847 weapons 78079 rounds of ammunition 238035 narcotic pills 187513 kg of qat 2240 kg of hashish 489 kg of foodstuffs 7135 kg of snuff 3453 pieces of fireworks SR228946 in cash and 2243 head of livestock over a one-month period media spokesman in Jazan Maj. Hasan Al-Qisaibi was quoted as saying.
Spokesman of the Border Guard Maj. Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghamdi said the Saudi-Yemeni border area is calm with the exception of periodic attempts by individual smugglers and human traffickers to cross into the Kingdom.
Experts say the Saudi-Yemeni border area is the most monitored region in the region because of repeated attempts at smuggling narcotics and drugs into the Kingdom.
Last year the Ministry of Interior deported more than 700000 foreigners for violating work and residence laws and foiled more than 290000 attempts by infiltrators to enter the Kingdom illegally according to media reports.
