Dubai Airport passenger traffic up 4.3 percent in November


(MENAFN) Dubai International Airport said that it has registered an increase by 4.3 percent in its passenger traffic in November, totaling to 5.565 million people in comparison with the 5.337 million passengers recorded in the same month in 2013, Emirates 24/7 reported.

The airport also said that the traffic recorded an increase by 5.9 percent during the January-November period of this year to reach 63.977 million compared to 60.384 million passengers recorded during the first 11 months of last year.

Regionally, Eastern Europe was the fastest growing region, with passenger traffic rising 54.1 percent compared with last November, due to growth in passengers from Budapest, Prague and Warsaw, followed by South America with 15 percent and Asia by 13.8 percent, while the numbers of passengers from Russia & CIS declined by 18.2 percent.

Meanwhile, India maintained its position as the busiest country destination in November, due to a growth in passenger numbers to both New Delhi by 15.1 percent and Mumbai by 16.2 percent.
