China's int'l investment balance hits USD1.8t


(MENAFN) According to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), China's net international investment balance hit USD1.8 trillion at the end of September, Xinhua reported.

The world's second-largest economy's external financial assets came to USD6.29 trillion, while its external financial liabilities totaled USD4.49 trillion, SAFE said in a statement.

The country's outbound direct investment in the financial sector reached USD664.8 billion, accounting for 11 percent of external financial assets, while portfolio investments hit USD259.3 billion.

At the end of September, foreign direct investment into the country stood at USD2.55 trillion, accounting for 57 percent of the external financial liabilities, while other investments hit USD1.49 trillion.
