China's inflation to grow 1.4 percent in December

(MENAFN) According to the Chinese Bank of Communication (BOC), the country's consumer price index (CPI), the main gauge of inflation, is to grow 1.4 percent in December, Xinhua reported.

In November, the country's CPI also rose 1.4 percent over a year ago, marking the slowest increase since November 2009 when it increased 0.6 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.

Stable food prices since the beginning of December are the main contributors to the inflation, which remained at the same level of last month, as food prices account for nearly one-third of the CPI.
